Right Start is an interactive learning course that is designed to help candidates prepare for the Texas educator certification examinations. Educator preparation programs (EPPs) can purchase vouchers to provide candidates with full credit toward 30- or 90-day subscription fees for the Right Start courses.

Purchasing Options

Right Start vouchers can be purchased in any quantity. The price per voucher varies depending on the subscription length and the quantity of vouchers purchased in a single order. Vouchers can be purchased online by credit card or by submitting a completed order form along with a check or purchase order.

If you are purchasing vouchers online for the first time, you will need to create an account. To create an account, click the “My Account” link at the top of the website. From the “Sign In” screen, click the “Create an account now” link and complete the forms that follow.

Purchasing vouchers online using a credit card comes with additional benefits. When you buy Right Start vouchers online, you gain access to the Passage Preparation Portal, which provides an integrated voucher management system. This portal allows you to:

• Reassign any unredeemed vouchers to candidates to ensure their use.

In addition to monitoring voucher usage, the Passage Preparation Portal also allows programs to track candidates’ progress and results on Right Start courses. EPPs can access individual and aggregate candidate performance data on diagnostic assessments, module quizzes, and summative practice assessments for each Right Start course. With this tool, EPPs can analyze and glean insights from this data to better support candidates in preparing for their certification examinations as well as understand their own programmatic areas of strengths and areas for improvement.

Voucher Usage

Educator preparation programs purchasing vouchers by check or purchase order can track voucher usage upon request to identify any unused vouchers before they expire. Unused vouchers may then be renewed and redistributed to candidates, ensuring their use.

The following applies to all Right Start vouchers regardless of payment method:

• Vouchers are valid for one year.
• The effective dates of the vouchers are determined by date of purchase.
• Voucher purchases are not refundable.

How to Purchase Right Start Vouchers

• To purchase vouchers by credit card, please submit your request online. EPPs that purchase Right Start vouchers online will have access to the Passage Preparation Portal.
• To purchase vouchers by check or purchase order, please complete and submit a Right Start Voucher Request Form .
