Registration Policies

Pearson takes reasonable precautions to protect the integrity of your personal information provided in connection with the registration process, as well as any information generated internally that is specifically pertinent to you, and to keep this information secure.

Your private information will not be made available to anyone but you; Pearson and TEA (including the employees, agents, contractors, or professional advisors of Pearson and TEA); your educator preparation program or charter school (if applicable); and any institution, entity, or person required or authorized by law to receive this information.

• All fees are stated in U.S. dollars.
• All outstanding balances with Pearson must be paid in full prior to registering for any Pearson-administered exams.
• If you have a balance due on your account, you will not be able to process exam registrations or access your scores from previous testing events. You will be able to access your account (e.g., scores) as soon as the total outstanding balance has been cleared by either you or your financial institution, unless your scores are being withheld for any other reason. • All payments must be for the full amount.
• Cash and paper checks are not accepted for payment.
• Services may be withheld for nonpayment of fees.
• Refunds of exam fees will be made in U.S. dollar denominations. (See the Withdrawal/Refund Policy for information regarding refunds.)
• There are no refunds for convenience or processing fees.
• Additional policies for payments made by mail are on the form for the service you are requesting.

After registering, you may update your answers to the background questions and score reporting options at any point before you test through your account by following the instructions provided.

If you wish to change your exam selection, you must withdraw your current registration and then submit a new registration for the new exam selection.

To withdraw your registration:

• If you have not yet scheduled your exam: Submit a withdrawal request through your account.
• If you have already scheduled your exam:
  1. First, cancel your exam appointment at least 48 hours before your scheduled testing time. To cancel your appointment, log in to your account, click "Reschedule/Cancel," and follow the instructions provided.
  2. After canceling your exam appointment, submit a withdrawal request through your account.

Scheduling your exam. After you register and pay for your exam, you can schedule an appointment through your account by following the instructions provided.

Changing your exam date, test center, or testing time. If you have already scheduled your exam appointment and wish to change the date, time, or location of your appointment, you may reschedule your appointment through your account by following the instructions provided.

The deadline for rescheduling your exam appointment is 48 hours before your scheduled appointment time. There is no fee for rescheduling an exam appointment.

Canceling your appointment. You may cancel your exam appointment through your account by following the instructions provided, up to 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. After canceling, you may reschedule your appointment at any time, or you may withdraw your registration completely for a refund.

Withdrawal/Refund Policy

If after registering for an exam you wish to withdraw your registration, you may do so according to the following procedure:

If you have not yet scheduled your exam: Submit a withdrawal request through your account.

If you have already scheduled your exam:

1. First, cancel your exam appointment at least 48 hours before your scheduled testing time. To cancel your appointment, log in to your account, click "Reschedule/Cancel," and follow the instructions provided.
2. After canceling your exam appointment, submit a withdrawal request through your account.

If you withdraw your registration before you have scheduled your exam appointment or if you cancel your exam appointment at least 48 hours before your scheduled testing time and then withdraw your registration, you will receive a refund of your exam fees, minus $25. Additionally, the Texas.gov funds are not refundable.

If your original payment was made by credit/debit card, a refund will be processed to your credit/debit card. Check with your credit/debit card company regarding its processing time for crediting your account.

If you are absent from the exam, you will not receive a refund or credit of any kind.

If you are registered for an exam and your eligibility is removed, you will be automatically withdrawn from the exam. If the withdrawal occurs at least 48 hours before your scheduled exam appointment, you will receive a refund in accordance with the Withdrawal/Refund Policy.
